SnapTok returns the avatar exactly as TikTok publishes it in the public profile data — no re-encoding, no cropping and no watermark added on our side. That means you get the best version our provider exposes, which for TikTok avatars is a square image, generally a few hundred pixels on each side.

It is worth being clear about this: TikTok does not publish the original photo a creator uploaded. Whatever tool you use, the avatar you can retrieve is the resized copy that the platform serves to visitors. Any service promising an untouched, full-resolution original is upscaling the image or simply overstating what it does.

For most real uses — recognising an account, keeping a reference before an account changes its branding, or checking whether someone copied your own picture — that square image is more than enough. If you need a larger asset, the only correct route is to ask the account owner directly.

You can start from either input. A username is the handle displayed on the profile, with or without the leading @ — for example @snaptok or simply snaptok. This is the fastest option when you already know the account.

A profile URL is the full web address, such as https://www.tiktok.com/@snaptok. Paste it as-is; SnapTok extracts the handle and drops any share or tracking parameters appended by the app before the lookup runs.

Short share links, in-app redirects and video URLs are less reliable because they may not contain the handle in a readable form. If a shortened link fails, open it in a browser, wait for the real profile page to load, then copy the address bar URL.

On Android and iPhone, open TikTok, go to the profile, tap the share arrow and choose Copy link. Switch to your browser, open this page, paste the link and run the lookup. Tap the download button and the picture lands in your Downloads folder; on iOS you may need to open the Files app and move it into Photos.

On Windows, macOS or Linux, open the profile in a browser tab, copy the address, and paste it here. The download saves directly to your usual downloads directory, so it is the more convenient option when you need to collect several avatars in a row.

Nothing else is required on any platform: no extension, no desktop app, no permissions beyond what your browser already grants for a normal file download.

SnapTok only reads information TikTok already makes publicly visible. There is no login, no session sharing and no mechanism that would let the tool see content hidden behind a private account or a follower-only setting. SnapTok does not bypass TikTok privacy controls, and it never will.

We do not keep the pictures. A lookup is processed for your request and the file is streamed straight to your browser; SnapTok does not maintain a library of avatars or a searchable history of the handles that were entered.

Please use the result responsibly. A profile picture belongs to the person who published it. Saving one for personal reference is reasonable; reposting it, impersonating the account, or using someone's face in an advert or a thumbnail is not. Invalid username: check for typos, missing characters and lookalike symbols. TikTok handles only contain letters, digits, dots and underscores, so anything else in the field will be rejected before a request is even sent.

Malformed profile URL: make sure the address contains the @handle segment, for example tiktok.com/@username. Links copied from search results or from a video player sometimes point elsewhere; open the profile itself and copy again.

Unavailable or deleted account: if the account has been removed, renamed, banned or set to private, no public profile data exists and the tool reports that the profile could not be found rather than guessing.

Temporary provider or network failure: public data lookups occasionally time out or get rate-limited. Wait a minute and try again — the request is cheap and the same handle usually resolves on the second attempt.
